The Run Larapinta Stage Race is a 4-day, 4-stage trail running race along the most spectacular sections of the iconic Larapinta Trail, in the MacDonnell Ranges around Alice Springs from August 12th to 15th, 2016. These events start and finish at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat located in the Lamington National Park. Competitors will have the option of 3 events. A 42 km Marathon or a 21 km Half Marathon distance or the FARA 8.5 km Fun Run on two consecutive days. To be in the running for age or category winnings you need to compete in the same event on both days. However there is a team option, where one person competes on one day and your team member competes on the other day. This will suit Mums and Dads with kids. There is also the option to compete in a single event, however this will not place you into a set category for overall placings. You do not need to be an elite athlete or champion runner to compete in the Lamington Eco Challenge. The Bendigo Bank Coffs Harbour Running Festival is a community event for people of all ages and abilities and consists of a 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km Fun Run, 5 km Fun Run and a 3km Family Fun Run/Walk. Take A Hike is the ultimate community fundraising challenge aimed at raising vital funds and awareness for children with autism. The challenge is open to everyone and caters to all fitness levels with a 10.5km route for the Sunday strollers, 21km for the half marathon heroes and 42km for the marathon maniacs. Participants can choose to either walk or run in a team or go solo. Sat-Sun 22-23 Oct NED KELLY CHASE (VIC)
The 100km course follows the magnificent Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and then on the Oxley and Milawa cycle path which starts and finishes at Apex Park in Wangaratta. Entrants choose from the 100km or 50km solo run, 4 x 25km relay run, Marathon or Half Marathon, 100km or 50km cycle challenge or 10km fun run. The event is fully supported with food and beverage aid stations approximately every 5km. Times are accurately recorded and the 100km & 50km is IAAF AIMS certified and entrants choose their own start time aiming to finish at 12pm Sunday. Entry fees for all but the 10km includes customised event bibs, 2-bottle Ned Kelly Chase hydration belt and a ticket to the presentation dinner Sunday evening. Dinner includes delicious 1880's favourites such as lamb shank soup, damper, various roast veges and meats, cottage pie and for dessert we tuck into bread and butter pudding and an adult-styled trifle. All event finishers receive either a stylised Ned Kelly helmet medal or keyring and there is also a great range of other prizes and giveaways. The Upstream Challenge is a 50km walk/run from the CBD to Donvale and 20km walk/run from Yarra Flats to Donvale along the Yarra River in Melbourne. There is NO registration fee; however each participant must commit to collect a minimum of $200 in donations, $50 of which will need to be donated at the time of registration. Participants can enter the event by registering for the 50km or 20km Challenge as an individual or as a team.
