|Sat-Sun||22-23 Oct||NED KELLY CHASE (VIC)
The 100km course follows the magnificent Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and then on the Oxley and Milawa cycle path which starts and finishes at Apex Park in Wangaratta. Entrants choose from the 100km or 50km solo run, 4 x 25km relay run, Marathon or Half Marathon, 100km or 50km cycle challenge or 10km fun run. The event is fully supported with food and beverage aid stations approximately every 5km. Times are accurately recorded and the 100km & 50km is IAAF AIMS certified and entrants choose their own start time aiming to finish at 12pm Sunday. Entry fees for all but the 10km includes customised event bibs, 2-bottle Ned Kelly Chase hydration belt and a ticket to the presentation dinner Sunday evening. Dinner includes delicious 1880's favourites such as lamb shank soup, damper, various roast veges and meats, cottage pie and for dessert we tuck into bread and butter pudding and an adult-styled trifle. All event finishers receive either a stylised Ned Kelly helmet medal or keyring and there is also a great range of other prizes and giveaways. The Upstream Challenge is a 50km walk/run from the CBD to Donvale and 20km walk/run from Yarra Flats to Donvale along the Yarra River in Melbourne. There is NO registration fee; however each participant must commit to collect a minimum of $200 in donations, $50 of which will need to be donated at the time of registration. Participants can enter the event by registering for the 50km or 20km Challenge as an individual or as a team. The Dinner Plain Mile High Trail Run is set in the picturesque alpine village of Dinner Plain, at 1569 m the course takes in a range of run distances from entry level runners to the more experienced trail runner, offering opportunities for mum, dad and the kids to get out and experience this pristine alpine environment. Short course distance of 1/5 km and 10 km are great for the kids and those just wanting to stretch their legs following scenic walking trails. For the more experienced, the 21 km and 32 km courses take in more challenging and historic runs through the Alpine National Park, Mt Hotham Village and the historic Cobungra Ditch. Inaugural Run - Sunday 20 November 2016 This run, destined to be one of Australia's top marathon running courses will commence in the heart of the Australian Alps at Dinner Plain Village and follows the iconic Great Alpine Road through Mount Hotham Village and out to Mt St Bernard before returning to Dinner Plain. The half marathon starts at Hotham Heights and runs along the top of the Alps to Blowhard Hut before turning back to Hotham Heights and continuing to the finish at Dinner Plain. Challenge yourself on this 'hilly' course in a run that is not just about time but about stamina and determination and beautiful scenery.
