Event date is the 28/11/2015. There are two distances. The 21km will start at Point Addis and Finish in Torquay and the 12km run will start at the famous Bells Bech and Finish in Torquay. Both runs will follow the iconic Surfcoast walk. All runners will start in the light and finish in the dark. The Camelbak Southern Highlands Challenge trail running festival offers a scenic and challenging route through the forests and farmland of the Southern Highlands of NSW. Runners will experience hammering singletrack, forest tracks, dirt roads and no asphalt whatsoever. One of the state�s most anticipated running events will return to Huskisson next month for the annual Pearl Izumi Husky Running Festival which is expected to draw hundreds of athletes set to take part in either the 2km, 5km or signature 21km event. In a huge coupe for runners who are aspiring towards the milestone of completing a half marathon, competitors will be able to team up and conquer a modest 10.5km each. The Bendigo Bank Coffs Harbour Running Festival is on Sunday 6th September in the beautiful coastal city of Coffs Harbour. The event offers a half marathon, 10km, 5km and 3km fun runs all held on a bush track on the Coffs Creek Walkway. Over the last few years, the Cities of Perth in Canada and the UK have been competing for the title of 'Largest Kilt Run'. Now it's Perth, Australia's turn! Sat 3 Oct WESTERN SYDNEY MARATHON (NSW)
The Western Sydney Marathon has fast become Western Sydney's premier running event. It is one of the most affordable marathon events on the running calendar making it an attractive option for the experienced or entry level athlete. Situated in Penrith, the marathon is held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre which boasts scenic views of Penrith Lakes, Lower Blue Mountains and surrounding parkland. A flat fast course has been designed which navigates the main lake, crosses the island bridges to the Regatta Centre and weaves around roads within and outside of the venue. Starting int he Blue Mountains township of Blackhealth the Hounslow Classic 21km event takes runners past Govetts Leap and into the Grose Valley, passing through the Grand Canyon, Junction Rock and traversing Rodriguez Pass. This could eb the toughest half marathon run you ever do. Sun 1 Nov GREAT BARRIER REEF MARATHON FESTIVAL (QLD)
The Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival is on November 1st in Port Douglas. The 74km JCU Ultra Marathon now begins on Four Mile Beach, journeys out into Mowbray Valley, heading up the infamous "Bump Track" and then turning left onto Black Mountain Road to tackle the stunning trails of Twin Bridges. This is one epic challenge and a seriously challenging event. Not for the faint hearted either, the 42.195km Steve Moneghetti Marathon follows a similar course with the inclusion of the Bump Track, but with first a loop through the pristine valley of Spring Creek before heading for the infamous climb. This event turns around at the top of the track and heads back into Port Douglas along the palm tree lined streets of Port Douglas - an adventure marathon like no other! There is also the 21.1km Sheraton Mirage Resort Port Douglas Half Marathon which also begins on the beach and the 10km Newsport Daily run, a hot lap around the township of Port Douglas from the beach to suburbia, through hidden trails and back along the palm tree lined streets. Also on offer for those preferring a more 'fun run' approach is the 5km Port Douglas Fundy 5000 and the 2.5km Coles Junior Challenge. Sun 1 Nov PORT OF PORTLAND 3BAYS MARATHON (VIC)
Solo marathon RUN/WALK $80, Half marathon RUN/WALK $45 8 person relay RUN/WALK $170 4 person relay RUN/WALK $100 The marathon starts in Otway Street, Portland CBD, and heads out to Bridgewater Bay via a gently undulating course. Spectacular views are afforded as runners climb the first of Portland�s two custom big hills, affectionately titled the �Dipper.� The course then weaves through Bridgewater Lakes and past intriguing limestone caves, before runners tackle the second epic ascent known as the �Shuffler�. (Half-marathon entrants start at the base of the Shuffler) Runners then head back into town via �Cashmore Straight�, a mentally-challenging 5km section, and then conclude by skirting Portland Bay with a welcome descent along Bentinck Street to the finish line. One of the most affordable and scenic runs around. Fri-Sun 13-15 Nov ENDEAVOUR FOUNDATION'S 500KM TEAM ENDURANCE RELAY (QLD)
The 500km Team Endurance Relay sees participants start running at the break of dawn and continue in a non-stop relay until sunset. Throughout the day runners are tested physically and mentally by a challenging course and the extreme heat of Queensland's summer. As the last event on the running calendar, runners are in prime condition and well prepared for the gruelling conditions. The 500km Team Endurance Relay is one of the most difficult and challenging events that runners will encounter. To register for the 500km Team Endurance Relay, you will need to form a team and decide if you are ready to take on the One Day Event or challenge yourself on the Three Day Event. Sun 13 Mar BLACK BULL HALF MARATHON (VIC)
The running of the Black Bull half marathon is part of the 2016 Murray Quad, which is a Quadrathlon (Triathlon plus a paddle) event that starts at the Yarrawonga Rowing club with a swim on Lake Mulwala, then a run around Yarrawonga, the chainman's island nature reserve and silverwood golf and lifestyle resort, a bike ride from Yarrawonga to Cobram via Wilby, Tungamaha and Katamatite and finally finishes a paddle on the Murray River to Tocumwal. To encourage more people to enter in 2016 event we are introducing single events for each of the four disciplines run at the same time as the Murray Quad. The Running of the Black Bull Half Marathon is a unique event that will include a loop around the exquisitely landscaped Black Bull golf course which is wrapped around the waters of Lake Mulwala. The run will start at around 8am just before the first swimmer from the Murray Quad event exits the water. Entry is via the website or the day before at the Murray Quad registration desk located at the Yarrawonga Rowing Club Results will be timed based and opened to all participants including those athletes competing in the Full distance and relay events of the Murray Quad.
