Suggest make contact with Balmoral Tri Club. Drop into Le Spit Cyclery at Mosman or website at
http://www.balmoraltriclub.org.auThey might also have some spare pronouns for you or even help with your grammar ... :P

Not too sure about the Sydney Tri scene Simon, but regardless the Tri season is unfortunately just about over. There might be 1 or 2 tris around down there, there's a few races left up in Qld & Byron, and the club champs in Port Stephens on May 6th might be right up your alley (the bike leg has been cancelled), but that's about it.
Most clubs run a duathlon series over winter though (usually in a run/bike/run format).

Simon, at least you can train over winter, and be ready for the next season. And the duathlon season will give you good transition practice in the mean time. Triathlons are awesome fun, good luck with your training over winter.

Most Tri-Clubs are welcoming to new members, I am a member of the Port Macquarie Tri Club which I really enjoy. You will find once you join the club you will get to know who is doing what and after a while you will have more training partners than you know what to do with.
The tri season is just about over but as mentioned there are a few duathlons over winter and the Balmoral Tri Club may run their own which would benefit you in getting used to running of the bike, it is quite a difficult task at first but once mastered is quite easy.
Good luck and hope to see you out there.

There's a Novice Triathlon at the Australian Team Championships at Penrith Regatta Centre on 21 May.
Great place and it will be a good chance to have a go at your first tri.
You can then watch the Elite men and Women do their stuff.
oh.......and there's a $10.00 5k Fun Run for those who aren't doing the half.
Of course the info is available at
