Fellow runners/triathletes, did anyone record on DVD the Channel Nine or Foxtel show. I missed both of them being overseas. Would someone be kind enough to send me a copy. Obviously, I am happy to pay any cost occurred.
That was my first Ironman so it is pretty special to me.
Thanks for your help. :D

Frog - congrats on the finish! Hope you still haven't come down from the high B)
I actually taped this on the VCR, but then afriend of mine made me a DVD copy. Better still, he's also recorded the Fox sports coverage of the inaugural Monaco Half Ironman, and added that to the same DVD (killer bike leg on this race).
Send me an email, and I'll see what I can arrange for you!
Oh, and welcome to Cool Running :)

Is the coverage that was shown on Channel 9 the same as the official video that competitors receive? (Do all competitors receive a DVD?)
I videoed the channel 9 one and bawl my eyes out every time I see that girl at the end taking a bow! (Amongst other times! - I thought it was really good!)

Trit Trot - no, the competitor's DVD is a separate hour-long coverage of the race, taken more from the age-grouper's perspective (less focus on the Pros). It also features video footage of your own personal face finish.
However, you also have to "purchase" this DVD, which is over and above the entry fee for the race. I'm yet to order mine, but I guess with the personal finish on there, it's hard to let this one go ...
btw - I'm sure that Miss B will be mightily chuffed to hear of your particular emotional attachment to that finishing bow. Most of us here were similarly affected ;)

Ironfrog, you could always buy your finish from the official guys - this includes the race coverage as per the telecast plus a little more on the age-groupers (well, that was my experience in 05). Apart from terrible audio sync issues it's a good buy, and it's kinda cool to have your finish on DVD for evermore.
Trit-trot - that bow at the end was me. :D This was my second IM and I finished 2 hours later than my expected finish time - suffering the last 20km of the run with stomach issues. I vowed to make the most of the finish chute this time and was absolutely chuffed to get on the final coverage!
Miners - get your finishing DVD - it's your first IM, and you will use it for inspiration and motivation for the next one (and fun watching if you're on the indoor trainer!)
