Help! <_< One of my team members cannot make the tri this Sunday and I am desperately looking for someone to join our team. :P Sorry guys, it has to be a female because we have registered as a female team. All fees are paid and outfit will be provided. We are a team out to have fun. ;) Please contact me urgently if you can join us.

Hello

has any one done the Sydney BRW Triathlon on Sunday (15th)?
the run was 4km and I did it in 13min which is an all time PB.
I can't believe that I ran it in so fast (for me).
is it really 4km, or a little less?

thx

Definitely less, as is the swim and the bike, typical triathlon measurement.
I would guess the run to be around 2.6km and the swim maybe 350mtrs. I recorded 5.8km for the bike too.
The run from the swim to the bike transition is counted in the "4km" but would still come up short, maybe 3km all up? I ran 10:50, would be delighted if I could run 4kms that fast. wink.gif

definitely short! I did 14.05 which just doesn't compute as I was expecting 20 at best!! it was a long run from the swim though... unconventional way of doing it though!!!

Hey...Tri-Hard...
I think you are a bit late for her...she posted it a year ago as far as i can see from the date.

thx every one for the answer.
yes 13min for 4km seems a little bit off.

cheers

BRW (in Sydney) is notorious for having short distances. I did the "400m swim" a few years back in a touch over 5min. Even with a wetsuit, that's ridiculously fast for me. The run was similar. My PB now is about 18:18 for 5km on a measured course and I finished in just over 10 min for the 2006 brw 4k. I'm sure the tailwind wasn't that strong nor so smart as to follow me around the course.

Nevertheless, it's a fun day out.

The Boy Charlton biathlon has a 4km run in it, which I think is quite accurate. It starts at Boy Charlton Pool, goes round Mrs Macquarie's chair, up to the end of the path past the Art Gallery, and back to the pool. The BRW cuts out about a km at the start, and maybe 500m at the end, so 2.5km would be the maximum distance of this run.
