G'day aquaman, and welcome aboard. There hasn't ever been much talk specifically about aquathons over here, but there's a good group of triathletes who share ideas on their training pretty regularly.
Much as I personally love aquathons (I'm a crap cyclist), I don't have a specific program for training for one at all. I just follow the standard triathlon-type programs for the summer season, and comparative to my tri-results, do relatively well on the rare occasion I can find one. If you're after speed-specific swim/run drills you'd probably find a few threads in these pages. Or alternatively, just examine a standard tri-program that's relevant to the distances you're keen on, and swap out the cycle sessions with additional strength &/or speed sessions in the pool and in the running shoes.
Best of luck - assuming you can find one that is. They're not the most popular racing discipline out there. Let me know if you find a few worth checking out.
