This year it's called
Trishave All Women's Triathlon Festival and is on Sunday 3rd February.
There are 3 distances:
Try a tri 150/5/1.5
Enticer 250/10/2.5
Sprint 500/20/5
Last year I did the enticer so this year I'm entering the Sprint.
Should be fun!

I've just seen this event, it looks great. I was going to do my first Triathlon on the 3rd Feb at a local club with about 30 people, but having seen this I am now debating doing this one, looks great. How many people do they usually get and is it relatively flat or are there hills?
thanks

I can't remember how many girls raced last year but so far this year they have 67 entrants (based on the entry page on the website). There is no break down of the entrants for each of the 3 events.
The course is flat, flat, flat. The bike course consistes of laps around the Regatta Center (4 x 5km for the sprint) as does the run (1 x 5km).
I am going to enter soon.

Well it does sound a good event and maybe better than the one I was looking at for my first triathlon. The other one had a run in between the swim and cycle and then a run at the end too and I'm wondering if that was pushing things a bit on the first attempt! I will look at the logistics of getting there and so on and may enter too. Hope it goes well for you!

Have entered into the sprint for this one - see you all there!! If I do the swim leg 4 times, the bike leg 9 times and the run leg 4 times I would be ready for GC HIM, haha

Hi Wildthing
I am going to do the sprint too, 500m swim 20k bike and 5k run- I think thats the right one? $75 to enter isn't too bad, if I like it after this one then I think I'm set to join a club, if only to reduce these entry fees!
NB

I could be wrong but I don't think joining a club would reduce entry fees. I think they only charge you less if you are a member of Triathlon Australia.

A puncture in the enticer might mean it's time to pack up and go home
wildthing
Jan 20 2008, 04:17 PM
Wise words from Momma and Poppa Bear.
Sadly the time to change a tyre vs the time taken to complete the enticer might be your undoing - especially if you change a tyre as slowly as I do!
Maybe some speed tyre changing practice might be in order.
Also I think outside assistance is against tri rules

You will not get a flat. So I guess that means you - and I - are in
Ellie80
Jan 20 2008, 04:57 PM
Hehe - honestly I have never changed a tyre so I suspect it would be the end of the race! However, I do have a little pouch full of useful tyre changing things that I am sure someone more resourceful than me could utilise

OK - let me see if I can still ride once this week and I will commit

Okay someone needs to arrange to ride with Ellie80 this week.
I can vouch for the course. Nice swim. Lovely cycle around the lake. Then wonderful run around the lake again.
Nice warm showers and great change rooms / toilets.
You will have a top time in this triathlon.

Hi All
Does anyone else know where there are some more details on the race, I've only got the start time off the venue website and not many other details and starting to wonder if there are more or if this is it.
What sort of time would you recommend arriving in time to set up and register for the sprint event? Is anyone wearing a wet suit ( I don't own one so its not really an option for me!).
Thanks.

Tri NSW is where you should look for more info.
Put the little hand over "TriNSW Races" and a drop down menu will appear. The Tri Shave All Women's Festival is 3rd from the bottom.
The transition area for the sprint event opens at 9:15 and the race starts at 10:30. I will probably be setting up my bike and around 9:45. I get really bad nerves and need to tread that fine line between setting up too early and being so rushed by stress levels go through the roof!
I will be out there pretty early to watch the other events.
As for wearing a wet suit - it's quite likey that the water will be too warm. I have a wet suit but still don't love it too much so am probably going to leave it at home.

Tri Shave, All Women's Festival
Or are you talking about the apostrophe in the possesive noun "women's"?

Just thought they might have meant "Tri, shave all womens, festival"...but your apostrophe works as well I guess...

I was thinking about possible variations after I replied to your post.
I think it should be "Tri shave all women festival".
You could never be on dangerous turf Professor.
Athough, if I see you around the bay this evening I might tri and trip you, over.
If you are bored then you must be at work
