I will be watching this thread with interest and would love to hear some race reports as my little family of 3 are looking to move up to this area of the gold coast hinterland.

If you are a coolrunner who lives and runs in this area i would love to hear about this race and generally other good places to run (especially off road/trail).

Best of luck in the ultra and also 25km to everyone !!!

According to the race info close of entries are Friday 18th May. I think one year I entered on the day but rung Ian a few days before. Certainly a tough run.

Last year i emailed Ian to let him know that i would decide in the week leading up to the race (to see how i recovered from GH50mile) and he was ok with that. I get the impression late entries with some contact beforehand are ok, but probabyl best to check.

Looking back i enjoyed this run last year, though for the first 18km i didn't want to be there (too soon after GH i think). The forest is pretty to run through and the views at the top of the "hill" are worth the climb. Its tough but rewarding, and certainly a great way to trash the legs!

Sadly i won't be there this year - doubled booked for a trip to sydney!

for those thinking about Kokoda - this is definitely worth a go

If anyone can give me a lift from Brisbane, please call me on 0400 782 972. I can scoot to your start point and pay a petrol donation - I just don't feature scootin' that far to the coast and will otherwise be hiring a car.

Sorry guys...I haven't had time to be reading the thread.

I'll take late entries right up to start time, but by email/fax today would be good please.

At this stage we have 320 entries....most for the Mini Kokoda 25km forest loop.

Cheers
