Thanks everyone for your support and good wishes. I'm arriving in Busso on Friday, hope to put some faces to the names then. I've been battling a sore throat and cold for a few days now but it seems to be clearing up so I'm hoping to be feeling great by Sunday. At least I'll be well rested from all the training I've missed...LOL

Hi All from BUSSO!!
Yep, we made it yesterday to the beautiful town of Bussleton. I've already told Daz that this is where I want to retire
The town is slowly starting to buzz today with competitors training, IM posters & signs all over the place. The official site at the beach has not quite finished being erected. Hopefully today we can go pick up numbers etc.
I've also had a good look at the looooooooooooooooooooong jetty that we are swimming around. The water is crystal clear & flat. Although some local fisherman have told us that Busso is expecing rain this weekend... fingers crossed it waits till after the event.
Spotted our first CR today being Muzman & Mrs Muzman... had a quick chat and they were on their way.
That's about it from us in Busso, we are loving the weather & the countdown to IMWA is ON!!!
Cheers,
K

Good luck to everyone. Hope you'll enjoy the flat course and recover in time to do it again in Port...

Aunty K you are making me jealous! I will see you there tomorrow.
The jetty is so long that there is a TRAIN to take people to the end who can't walk that far! And we are going to swim around it.
The countdown is on. Best of luck everyone and Suzy I hope you are feeling better soon.
See you all in Busso

I know this is a bit late, but I just wanted to say a huge good luck to all the CRs at Busso this weekend. I have been a regular lurker on this thread and have really enjoyed reading about your training and races and seeing the excitement build. Can't wait to read the race reports!

Just to prove they are really there - hello Aunty
Not long now.

It's
game on in WA.
The first male is out of the water in 44:32 with a 500m lead on the next bunch.
I am at work today so will be tuning in when I can.

Is the coverage a little below par, of am I spoiled by some of the previous American coverage??
And if my times are correct, there doesn't seem to be any athlete info available yet...which also seems slow.
Maybe Im just a whinger...anyway c'mon team!

I am a whinger too Prof. The race is well and truly underway, but the Athlete tracker function does not seem to be working yet and the video coverage is patchy. Hopefully it will improve as the day goes on.
I watched the coverage from Hawaii and really the only difference was that I could get a bigger/clearer picture on my PC - but this could be because I am a technological doofus rather than any problem witht the coverage.
It did take a while for times to come up but they are there now.
I look at is this way: dodgy coverage is better than no coverage.
Stop whingeing Prof and be grateful than you can watch at all
Looks like Dazza is killing it so far - lets hope he doesn't blow up on the run.
Go Aunty!!!!!

Now I really am cranky...Fire Brigades filtering system is too good, and there'll be no coverage of the K's finishing for me tonight! Bugger!

Ive just finished my stint volunteering on the bike leg and was going to log in to let you know the results so far.....but seems you already know. I didnt realise it was being broadcast on the internet.
Would just like to add -
Suzy was flying and looking great.
Muzman is grinning and so obviously enjoying every moment.
And PaddymelonPete had time to slow down and thank me for my volunteering/cheering so obviously hes got some in reserve for the run.
Am off to shower, change and get back down to watch the finish.
This is a fantastic event, the atmosphere is awesome. Weather has been super kind to them too - cool overcast and a slight breeze.
Cant wait to read their race reports.

I wish we could get some news on them during the run leg...if Daz can keep it together he's in for a blinding debut!
Aunty I'm almost certain swam the same time in Port this year, but has shaved about 40 mins off her bike leg, so could be in for a good finish time too if her run goes well...which I have no doubt it will. Go the Pocket Rocket!!

Not quite. It is a course record by 4 hrs, (because he bombed last time) but I believe he has gone sub 10 before. One big dude.
btw, Highwayman 8:41 with a 3:03 run, now that is 'hooley dooley'
Daz is about to finish - less than 1 mile

I doubt that would be correct MissZ, she hasn't got anywhere near that sort of running form-- especially compared to a guy like Vernay.
btw, has a woman ever run that fast???? Don't believe so.
ps just checking her splits now, it looks like either a timing glitch, or she DNF'ed because they gave her a split of 16 min for the last 15km.

Steely,
I may have thought that Plaz has gone sub 5 for half IM, so mixed that up.

You are right. To my knowledge CR Highwayman is
Steve Hume. I saw on Trannies that 'highwayman' did 8:41 and reported that here.
Sam Hume appears to be from Victoria
