Mister G
So, Max Adventure are staging the Go Natural Multisport in just over a week's time in Kuringai. 32K road cycle, 12K kayak, 12K trail run.

Nathan T and I are entered as a team, which means we'll be riding, kayaking and running together the full distance.

I did a Max Adventure Adventure Race earlier this year but, otherwise, this is my first tilt at multisport. I am horribly undertrained whilst Nathan has done 24hr adventure races, so it is going to be a long day for yours truly.

Anyone else having a go?

I'll see you there Mister G.

Although, I'm not as brave as you and will only be doing the run leg for our team.

Last year's event was fantastic so I'm expecting a good day this time around as well.

Good luck

Yes I'm in..tho I dropped the kayak earlier this week and had to do a bodgy repair job...doh! Was my first kayak session in 3 years...badly underdone there..did a 40 min bike and 20 mins kayak....when I finished the lower back was screaming..got to get out for a few more before the race.

Also, they dont allow tri bars (darn) but I didnt see anything about no drafting (yippee)...not that I really like drafting but it can be a pain trying to keep your distance all the time when a pack of equal riders forms.

If my new CR cap comes in time I will wear it...not wearing the CR singlet....I am sticking to bike knicks and top as I suspect it will be fresh at that time particularly close to the water.

What a great place to hold a race...very picturesque and the weather was perfect. Was really worried about the paddle, having only 3 paddles in last 2 weeks and none for past 2 years...However it turned out a doddle...the run, however, was tough with lots of scrambling and steep climbs. I was expecting it but still was toughest 12 km I have done. we dont have hills like that where I come from biggrin.gif

Was a bit peeved about no water on the course but in hindsight it turned out great. No cups littering and good for the environment. (maybe needed some fruit at finish tho) Perhaps we should standardise this for races of 10 km or less or even 15 km. If you cant survive that long without water you can always take your own. Imagine the cups we could save on the environment. As far as I know they are not recyclable.

Pity about the morons who threw their empty gel packs away. How hard can it be to put em in a pocket or hang onto them until a bin or the finish comes along?

Also won a pair of MTB tyres in the lucky draw so cant complain. Finished middle of the pack ( 3:56) so aiming to knock at least 30 mins off next year now I know what to expect.

This event sounds good. I will have to keep an eye out for them next year. As per the Maximum Adventure site on the race calendar there are only 2 events scheduled for Qld in 2008, must keep them in mind...
