What is the best/safest way to ride from Sydney CBD to Manly. This would be very early saturday morning. So not much traffic to worry about.

one of my concern is to go across the harbour bridge, I guess you are not allowed on the walking path on the eastern side?

Will, you will need to ride over on the western side, that's just for bikes so nout to worry about at all, I used to do it a lot, no problem, lots of fun when really windy too.

So come off at Milsons Point, under the bridge and you can then head up towards Mosman, hit Military Rd, and down over the spit and up the hill, chuck a right at Sydney Rd and Bobs your Dad's brother.

And where do you access the western side of the bridge?

Observatory hill. On Upper Fort Street.

I have never ridden over the spit but i run that way all the time. Once you cross the spit you will need to take a left at the first street. There no shoulder coming up the spit road and i suspect that it would be dangerous to ride up there with the way the road is. There is a clearly signed route through the back streets - just look for the blue signs and road markings.

Will here is the route that I ride for my commute home which hopefully helps. The only other thing you need to be aware off is that when you ride back you can't ride up spit hill. Take a left after you cross Spit Bridge and go up Parriwi Rd. Hopefully see you tomorrow.
