Are there any CRs having a go at Maitland Tri on 14th October? Especially the longer option of 1.5/55/12?

It will be my first time at Maitland but I have done a few of Paul Humphries' events before and always had a good time smile.gif

I just think that this distance (the organisers call it 'Mid Distance') is a great hitout for those of us who find sprint distance a bit of a 'splash and dash' laugh.gif

Anyone who has done it previously - how did you find the river swim? It looked a bit murky and brown in the photos from last year.

I did the 'Mid-Distance' last year and had a great time. The river was murky, and you were able to run one section of it but apart from that there were no issues.
I loved the cycle leg through the countryside, almost forgot that I was meant to be racing.
I think the run confussed people last year espically when they sent you through the park.
I would have done it again this year but swimming irratates my shoulder, so I have only been running recently, but who knows I could always have a crack. I'll just see how I feel closer to the event.
But anyway give it a go (but watch for bindis in transition).
Fun fun fun

I hope to be there this year, for the sprint race. A few from Hornsby Tri club going up.

Thanks for the tips, NewcastAL, I'm looking forward to it.

Danny, catch you there!

Did this one last year at Morpeth. Great course, especially bike through country roads- real treat for a Sydney cyclist used to survival riding.

A word of warnig though. Not totally sure but suspicious I got giardia from a murky Hunter river.

Keep your mouth closed in the swim......

Great weight loss program though wink.gif
