Goulburn River Rogaine - NSW Championships - 3 days before late fees are required and 9 days before entries close.

Rogaining is a great standard alone sport however if your looking for a training run to test your teams strengths, particularly your navigation skills come along. Fill a car with team mates and friends. Some of you can flog yourselves for 24 hours in the championships whilst other enter the 15 in 24 hour or the 6 hour. The 6 hour - hash house graziers - can drive you home and inflict their musical tastes upon those weary minds and bodies. The event is being held 30 minutes from Mudgee - according to whereis a 3hour and 15 minute drive from Sydney. Check out the wineries of Mudgee and if you have the time drive home via the northern route above the Wollemi National Park.

The course has been set by Ian Dempsey who has over twenty years experience as a competitor and organiser.

He has described the terrain thus \
"I’ve found very little scrub in the event area and it will be marked on the map. Terrain is best described as mixed, but generally the going is quite good. There’s some open farmland, very open forest along the river and major watercourses, and average going through the remainder. The scenery along the river is spectacular, there are clear linear features such as the river and roads for novices, and some of the more remote sections have challenging gully detail. In short, I think that there’s something for everyone at this event.\"


The map specially produced map using OCAD with a scale around 1:25000.

Time and date all events will commence with a mass start at 12 midday Saturday 20 October. The six hour event will finish at 6pm on Saturday. Competitors in the 15 in 24 hour event must give evidence through the Navlight system that they’ve spent at least 9 hours at the hash house during the 24 hour period. The 24 hour event will finish 12 noon on Sunday 21 October. The hash house will operate from 5pm Saturday until 1pm Sunday.

Entry open to all anyone can enter, although you must be a member of an Australian Rogaining Association. Membership of the NSWRA is ten dollars. If you are not a member please include the membership fee with your entry.

A team may consist of 2 to 5 people. Team Categories: Open (no age restriction) Under23 (all team members must be under 23 years of age on the first day of competition) Veteran (all team members must be 40 years of age or over on the first day of competition) Super Veteran (all team members must be 55 years of age or over on the first day of competition) In addition, there are three gender categories in each age class: Men (all team members must be male) Women (all team members must be female) Mixed (teams must contain at least one female and one male)

The NSW Championships will be conducted over the 24 hour event only.

Entry Fee: $70 adult, $50 student, unemployed or pensioner, maximum for a family $130 For fee purposes a family is defined as: one or two adults plus any number of dependant children each of whom looks to one or both of the adults as a parent and who all live at the same address. Closing dates: Entries made on line after October 5, or postmarked after October 5, will incur a late penalty of $10 per person. NO entries will be accepted after October 12.
