Will looks as if he might have had a puncture or something. It took him over 1:40 to get from 30-60k unknw.gif

Updated results for CR's attached.

Tiger - Charlie Low onto the run 8 mins behind leader of his age group.
Professor
I notice Helmet's off the bike in a nice, easy to calculate average speed time of 6:01:24, which has got to put him in line for a fantastic sub 12 debut. Looking good Rob, bring it home son!
Hamburglar
He seemed to spend over 13 mins in T1 though - seems like a mistake. Anyway, he's going well!
Hamburglar
Ironmanlive is down. No news for sometime. Just spoke to Jen. Mango is 7k into run and Will did have bike problems.
Spud
Vernay about to take it out.

Update CR results...
Hamburglar
Everyone's now running...
superflake
Charlie Low 17th overall in 9:14.14.
Uncle Dave
...and I'm proud to say my part-time riding partner, Ali Coyle, was 6th woman home, and less than a minute off 4th.

The run leg really should be longer! cool.gif

...hope you're trucking along okay out there too Aunty K and everyone else.

Yep, well done thus far to all good.gif

Great to see that the Bunny has made it through the bike leg and no doubt will be relishing the run leg home.
PlodBod
What's happened to the updates on the website? Gagging for results here....

I'm loving watching the live video!! It makes me feel like participating next time.
Professor
Not only is the live update down, but Dazza K's phone must be dead. Thats the end of any AK updates. Has Aunty finished???

SMS from Miners: - not sure of times but Mango and Wil are traveling well. Mango has been running good even splits. Wil had some tyre trouble earlier.

He has gone off in search of results - I will update when I hear from him.
runitloveit
ERB - awesome!! Well done, massive congrats on getting to the finish line and fantastic time too.

I wish they would fix the updates - not being able to monitor people on the track an athlete is sooo frustrating!!

Go Aunty K, hope you make it home soon.

Thanks Hamburgular for the tracking!
Professor
Now the video has gone again....bugger!
Ninja
I know the video has gone MIA diablo.gif

Update from Miners - he thinks Mango and Wil have finished but not sure of their times. Aunt K may still be running.

He is out on the course at the moment, but is heading towards the finishing area to see what he can find out.

One tough day full of lessons I had to learn. Way too hard on the bike early and ruined my stomach. In top 10 for most of the bike. Did not get the stomach back until 35 odd into the run. Flat track pacing strategy does not work too well in the hills. Full report as always to follow but I did manage to run a 5km pb of 19:27(actually 5.2) the last section of the race. Hah! As if run 3:44min/km at the end of an ironman. Probably helps that I walked most of the way to that point. 10:53 something. Humbling. Vegemite sangas were my saviour.

Swim 1:02

T1 3:something

B1 1:37:20 – 36.99km/hr (only 5 minutes slower than Mitch ) Stomach went at about the botom of MFD.
B2 1:43:18- 34.85km/hr fade fade
B3 1:53:37- 31.69km/hr fade fade fade

T 5:14:15

Run

RUN – 3.7km 6:38:17 3.7km @ 22 5:56m/k tick
RUN – 10.62km 7:18:21 6.9km @ 40:04 5:42m/k tick tick tick
RUN – 17.86km 8:10:53 7.2km @ 52:32 7:17m/k boom!!
RUN – 24.8km 9:06:28 7km @ 55:35 7:56m/k burn baby
RUN – 32km 9:49:37 7.2km @ 43:09 6:02m/k burn!!!
RUN – 37km 10:34:31 5km @ 44:54 8:48m/k BURN!!!!!
RUN – 42.2km 10:53:58 5.2km @ 19:27 3:44m/k Psssh. Brand new! Best 5k I have ever run let alone at the end of an IM

T 4:33:53

Total 10:53
Still a pb at Port but nearly exactly an hour slower than I expect I can go with my current fitness.
rohan
commiserations on the pedal? problem, will.
really feel for you after the investment of time and effort.
i hope you get to 'spend' your current fitness on another race soon and get a PB or something.... busselton HIM?
----
plazbot, thanks for the figures showing a good old fashioned blowup. you could've slunk away and resurfaced later, but it's a great warning. kinda gutsy to put them out there.
-----
happy recovery to everyone, and if it didn't go to plan then i hope you get to use that base to do something else soon.
(my 07 IM didn't go how i'd like, but i ran a marathon PB 2 months later and then felt that the training hadn't gone to waste.)
PlodBod
Top effort everyone - some amazing debuts there and you should all be very proud of yourselves as shiny new Ironmen cool.gif

Was trying to work out Plazbot's timings last night and was thinking "that can't be right - he's done a 3:15 mara before" - thinking it was my tiny brain unable to work out the figures. Shame Plazbot and Will, but thank you for sharing the lows as well as the highs.

Will get up there and join the cheersquad next year.

Nice photos here of Mango on his nice Azzuri, race wheels and groovy tri bars.

I'd go faster too if it prevented me from being hit by a rubber chicken!!

I know Mango has been training hard, and his race plan looks like it all went to plan...so i conclude that B+ must have chased him around the M7 and Penrith with a rubber chicken, just to get that extra ounce of effort!!! Actual quote from his training plan " 10 min rubber chicken intervals - 90% effort". yahoo.gif
