A friend just asked me what i knew of him. I recall that he ran a series of marathons in the 2:11-2:14 range in the ealry to mid 70s. I think he might have been ranked second or third in the marathon once by Track and Field News. Does anyone know how much longer his career lasted and how it ended or anything else that might be interesting?

A wonderful runner to watch racing,he just flowed so smoothly over any terrain.I seem to recall one episode when he ran the first leg of NSW 4x10K road relay then continued to complete the full distance ahead of all teams.I had the honour of running in the same 1973 NSW Marathon Champs at Richmond when he ran a fabulous 2.11.
Thomo,I recall your Ron Clark(e) very well,a good bloke who I ran against quite a few times. biggrin.gif

I also believe he held the course record at one stage at the Royal National Park Half Marathon along Lady Carrington Drive at Audley in 65.12 before John Andrews (JA) ran 63.40? Great times on a beautiful course

BTW as I have mentioned before John Andrews started his athletic career at Ryde Hornsby.

We also had Denis Nee 1975 City to Surf winner.

Danny Boltz started his career with Ryde Hornsby also. Not sure if Danny is still in Switzerland. Going back many years now.

Quinton Morley another star, started his career with Ryde Hornsby.

Great club it was.

Thank you all. Very interesting. Do any of you know if his career ended in the mid 70s or of he kept on?
