TynoMite
So I managed to find my way here somehow and think it's fantastic.
My silly question for the day is: Is there a similar site with either a cycling focus or a Tri focus?
Reading stuff here in about starting out/training for running etc is really helpful for me.
I'm trying to get ready for the SprintMan at GC HIM as my debut Tri and I've only had my bike for a month, so I'd be keen to find similar sites to get more specific insights into cycling an/or Tris.
Any suggestions?

there is http://forums.transitions.org.au/

but there is also mixed debate as to whether that site is as 'friendly' as CR.... tongue.gif

Personally, the lack of organisation on their forums is incredibly frustrating and irritates me.

I lurk on transitions for bike info (because it makes me laugh, cringe and Shocked.gif ), I was lurking on bicycles.net.au/forums but they just talk about their "fixies".

I took a look at the Transitions forum.
There is some helpful stuff there, but a whole heap of nonsense too from what I read.

As you are in Brissy TynoMite you might want to look at Road Grime. I haven't really spent much time there so can't vouch for the quality but you might find it useful.

I have found a lot of useful info HERE.

If you want location specific stuff it may not be so relevant though.

Don't think of the website title as demeaning in any way, but Beginner Trathlete is a really good site for training tips, gear reviews etc.. which you will always find something useful on.

Coolriding - isn't that an oxymoron?

Maybe. But then I've never seen a slim disc jockey either.

Transions as mentioned above gets probably 1 or 2 threads a month that are just top notch for cycling and there are some excellent contributions. The editor od Bicycling OZ is a poster as are the editors of TMSM and Australian Triathlete. Pros including Macca, Belinda Granger, Mitch, Pete Jacobs, owners of bike brands and major race directors all post and read.

The rest is just filler. It has mostly evolved into an off topic site where everyone knows each other in the real world and the discussion reflects that.

Definitely Road Grime - partner site to MTBDirt. Good people on there!
