Will
Hi guys,

Been a bit quite lately. The company I work for has moved to Silverwater and working in an open space office is not really good for spending time on CR.

Anyway, i'm looking for a swim squad before or after work in the area. I guess the aquatic center in olympic park is the obvious venue. Does anyone know any squad I join that I could join. I'm an average swimmer.

Thanks.
Will
Just pulling this back up.

Anyone?

Hi Will,

There is a triclub at Olympic Park. Their swim sessions are on Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings 5am - 7am.

There is also a Masters Swim Team at the Aquatic Centre

My organisation is based in SOP but I usually just do laps at lunch-time or after work on my own (lap lanes are always available)

Hope this helps

hi will, there is a link to nearly all the swim squads in the www.oceanswims.com webwatsit, there will be one out there in the west for sure
thomo
Boney Chic/Will, those times are for members of swim school/Masters not just triathlon.

ADULT SQUADS

Adult swim squad sessions cater for swimmers who wish to improve their fitness and stroke technique. Classes depend on lane/instructor availability.

SESSIONS

MON, WED, FRI 5.00am - 7.00am

Give them a call on (02) 9752 3666 as I do know they have early evening squads but not 100% sure if adults.

My kids have been going to SIAC since they were babies, eldest is 14 now.

Masters is good for racing. It will improve that racing edge you may be looking for. http://www.aussimastswimnsw.org.au/

I have a friend, Jenny Whiteley who has held / holds many world records over the years in Masters swimming. I remember her telling me about a 1500mtr (yes 1500mtr) butterfly record (I think it was a aussie record). I am lucky to 10mtrs in that stroke.

jenny whitely is a legend,at the harbour 2k she was 30 seconds behind the mighty graeme brewer and beat don boland by one second and myself by about 40 secs-incredible swimmer-in my defence i had also come third man overall in the 1k,i reckon she would have been about 15th overall
