I am looking to do a few tris and ocean swims over the next 6 months. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to hire a wetsuit in Melbourne?? I've just got back from the UK and over there there were places that would hire you a wetsuit for an extended period - say 3-4 months over summer. That way you could do all your open water training in it instead of just hiring one untried for the race weekend.

Then you had the option at the end of the hire period of paying a bit extra to keep the suit which was kinda handy if you were a beginner and then decided you wanted to get into it a bit more. Does anyone know anywhere who might do this kind of deal in Victoria???

I believe 2XU have a deal similar to that. I was going to look into doing the same thing this season.

Hi - I tried to do the same thing two seasons ago when I was starting out, but had no luck. Hygiene issues I believe!

I know that Orca has a new entry level suit this summer (I think around $260 cf their old starting price of around $320), so that might be the go - at least you will have it for 4 - 5 years! Dont know much about 2XU.
